The first bench
From the early 1980s, Bell's father made shoes by hand in a small workshop in Bangkok, learning the trade the old way: slowly, and from the hands of those before him.
The maker behind every pair, and a trade passed down through two generations.

Bell is a master shoemaker with more than fifteen years of experience at the bench. Since 2010 he has cut, stitched and finished every pair by hand, one at a time, with the discipline he first learned as a boy.
He is the second generation of a family of shoemakers. His father began the trade in the early 1980s, and Bell carries it forward, bringing more than forty years of family craft into every pair.
From the early 1980s, Bell's father made shoes by hand in a small workshop in Bangkok, learning the trade the old way: slowly, and from the hands of those before him.
Bell grew up among lasts, leather offcuts and the smell of wax. Long before he held a knife of his own, he learned by watching how his father measured, cut and stitched.
In 2010 Bell took up the trade himself, trained at his father's side. He kept the methods that mattered and began making shoes under his own name: BellShoesHandMade.

Bell looks at a shoe the way a jeweller looks at a stone. He sees every line, edge and curve, and nothing leaves his hands until it is right.
Nothing is hurried. For Bell, time is part of the material.

Two generations of the same craft,
in the hands of one maker.
